May be weird to say this... But my dad remembered the date because it was his anniversary.

I took my first lesson Dec 3, 1998. And haven't stopped playing since. (Although I only took lessons for six years.)

My father plays and tried to teach me when he had the time. When I had to move, I attempted to teach myself, but failed. Due to my hands being small, I can't do most bar chords successfully lol.
